About The Lodge

A Black Hills retreat
made for gathering

Tucked along a quiet winding road in Nemo, South Dakota, The Lodge at Nemo feels like stepping into another rhythm of life. The air is fresher. The pines rise tall and steady. A nearby creek hums softly in the background. And as you pull into the drive, the world seems to slow down in the best possible way.

This is more than a place to stay. It's where your people come together. Family reunions that turn into annual traditions. Wedding weekends filled with laughter. Milestone birthdays that deserve something special.

Mornings begin gently here. Sunlight pours through tall windows and dances across the moss-rock fireplace. Deer sometimes wander through the trees. Eagles circle overhead. The view of Nemo Mountain quietly reminds you why you came.

Spend your days however you choose:

  • Explore nearby trails by foot or ATV
  • Fish crystal-clear streams
  • Visit Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, or Custer State Park
  • Wander down our mowed path to the brook-trout filled creek
  • Enjoy the sauna, pool table, yard games, and space to relax

Evenings are pure Black Hills magic. The fire pit crackles. Marshmallows toast. Laughter carries through the trees. Above you, a sky full of stars stretches endlessly — brighter and clearer than most have ever seen.

Why guests return again and again:

  • Nature at Your Doorstep — Trails, wildlife, creeks, and mountain views
  • Moments That Matter — From wedding vows at the Nemo Church next door to late-night card games around the table
  • Peace of Mind — One of only two homes in Nemo licensed by the SD Health Department
  • Space to Gather, Space to Breathe — Large enough for everyone, cozy enough to feel like home
  • Always Connected — High-speed mesh WiFi and strong 5G service keep you connected without pulling you away from the moment

I came here to reset, and it did just that. Absolute peace and quiet, with top-notch comfort. The photos don't do it justice — ten out of ten.

Absolutely stunning property! The views alone are worth it. We spent mornings on the deck with coffee and ended every night around the fire pit under the stars. Perfect girls' weekend escape.

A perfect spot for a quiet retreat. We didn't leave the property much — just soaked in the views, the peace, and the comfort. We'll definitely return.

The Lodge was the highlight of our South Dakota trip! We loved hiking in the nearby forest, and our evenings were spent sipping wine by the fire pit. Our teenage kids loved the downstairs hangout zone.

Can't believe how secluded this place felt while still being close to town. The layout of the house was perfect for our group of six. Loved the big windows and mountain air.

Such a beautiful setting! We brought grandma and all the grandkids. Everyone had their space, and the kitchen was great for big family meals. Deer even wandered through the yard one morning!

We rented the Lodge for our anniversary and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The interior design is rustic-luxury perfection. The bed was crazy comfortable, and waking up to the view was unforgettable.

Stayed here with four buddies for a long weekend ATV trip. We hit the trails hard and came back each night to chill on the deck. Plenty of space for everyone. Highly recommend for a group trip.

What a gem! Perfect for our yoga retreat. We did morning meditation on the deck and evening sessions in the great room. Serene and soul-filling.

We loved how open and airy the whole house felt. At night, the stars were unreal. We spent our last evening playing board games and laughing by the fire.

We had a reunion here and couldn't have been happier. Ages ranged from 2 to 72 and everyone had a great time. Plenty of parking and lots of cozy spots inside to talk and reconnect.

We saw wild turkeys and deer from the kitchen window! Our kids were thrilled. Great spot to unplug and just enjoy nature. Fast WiFi too, which helped when we needed it.

Lodge at Nemo is fantastic. We grilled, played pool, sat around the fire pit, and even watched a thunderstorm roll through the valley from the covered porch.

Every detail was thought out — from the comfy beds to the stocked kitchen. We felt pampered and at home. Spent our days hiking and our nights watching movies in the big living room.

August 23 — The Cordova Family

The best part? The quiet. No traffic, no noise — just wind in the trees. Our family needed a break and this place delivered. We booked again for next year before we even left.

August 30 — Gabe F.

Epic getaway. If you're into trail riding, there's nowhere better to stay. We rolled straight from town to the forest. After a full day out, sitting by the fire pit hit just right.
